Exteel: Overview
Exteel is developed and published by NC Soft using the Unreal engine. It debuted in Korea and North America in late 2007. The look and feel of Exteel is “robot anime”. Exteel is a third-person shooter where players control ‘mechs’ called Mechanaughts.
NCsoft’s Team Beam puts you in command of a Mechanaught – a powerful bipedal walking war machine. On Exteel’s futuristic battlegrounds, these giant robots are the key to ultimate victory.
Choose a high-speed, light-weight model, wielding dual-blades, or choose a lumbering heavy-weight unit armed with a devastating siege cannon. Create your own devastating Mechanaught using thousands of parts and weapons in almost unlimited combinations!
There is no PvE in Exteel as it is purely PvP. Players compete against one another or against AI-controlled mechs. Similar to the Unreal Tournament series, Exteel features five game modes: Death Match, Team Death Match, Territory Control, Capture the Flag and Last Stand. Player weaponry includes: Swords, spears, shields, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, canons and rocket launchers.
Exteel is free to play although players can use the recently announced NC Coin to purchase in-game weapons, parts and skills. Developers have also announced that a detailed player ranking system is forthcoming.
